STEM in Motion
STEM in Motion at MASE is a dynamic, career-connected learning initiative that empowers students to explore and pursue thriving futures in science, technology, engineering, and math. This program bridges classroom knowledge with real-world industry exposure, allowing students to gain hands-on experience through internships, site visits, and mentorship from professionals in high-demand fields like biotechnology, logistics, welding, and automotive technology.
By collaborating with companies such as Smith & Nephew, FedEx, Le Bonheur, AutoZone, and CodeCrew, MASE students are not only introduced to modern workforce environments but are also guided in building critical skills, certifications, and confidence for their career journeys. Whether a student aspires to attend college or go straight into a trade, STEM in Motion ensures they’re equipped with the tools and experiences to succeed.
At its core, STEM in Motion is about unleashing student potential through exposure, preparation, and access. It reflects MASE’s mission to create thinkers, doers, and leaders who are ready to shape the future of Memphis and beyond.
Dual Enrollment
MASE equips upperclassmen with a powerful head start on college and career through its Dual Enrollment, Industry Certifications, and Advanced Placement program. Designed for 11th and 12th graders, this opportunity-rich pathway allows students to earn college credit, gain industry-recognized certifications, and explore advanced academic coursework — all while still in high school.
Through partnerships with Moore Tech College and Bethel University, students can complete dual enrollment courses in English, Personal Finance, and even pursue an Associate Degree or Machining Certification. Additionally, through the Boys and Girls Club, students gain hands-on skills and credentials in Information Technology, Culinary Arts, Logistics, and Automotive fields — all aligned with high-demand careers.
For students ready to tackle college-level rigor, MASE offers Advanced Placement courses including Studio Arts and Computer Science in collaboration with CodeCrew. This program ensures that by graduation, students are not only prepared — they’re already progressing. Whether heading to college, the workforce, or both, MASE students lead with experience, credentials, and confidence.
Career Exploration
From middle school to junior year, MASE students are immersed in a forward-thinking Career Awareness Track that sparks curiosity, builds confidence, and lays the foundation for long-term success. Beginning in grades 6–8, students receive double instruction in math and science, explore foreign languages, and engage in hands-on STEM CTE courses tailored to their developmental stage — from 6th Grade STEM Explorers to 8th Grade STEM Designers. Through robotics, rocket launches, CNC machining, Bridge Builders, and competitive STEM challenges, students gain early exposure to high-growth fields while developing critical thinking and collaboration skills.
In grades 9–11, the STEM CTE Program of Study deepens that momentum with coding courses via CodeCrew, early college coursework, and intensive ACT preparation. Students meet graduation requirements while also engaging in college tours, networking events, and career panels featuring local professionals and industry leaders. Career counseling begins in 9th grade, helping students identify their strengths and interests, explore real-world job placements, and build a pathway to a future aligned with their purpose and potential.
Whether designing rockets in middle school or preparing for internships in high school, MASE students are equipped to dream big — and back it up with skills, knowledge, and direction.
NJROTC

The Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (JROTC) at MASE is a high school elective designed to build leadership, character, and citizenship. Supported by the U.S. Department of Defense and led by retired military personnel, the program emphasizes personal growth, not enlistment. Students are never required to join the military after graduation.
Cadets engage in a variety of hands-on experiences including:
-
Drill and uniform training
-
Physical fitness and teamwork exercises
-
Leadership roles and rank advancement
-
Community service and civic engagement
-
Life skills like financial literacy, time management, and public speaking
JROTC also offers college and career benefits. Cadets gain access to exclusive scholarships — some offering up to $6,000/year — and those who choose to enlist may enter the military at a higher rank. Most importantly, participation improves attendance, GPA, and personal discipline.
Whether you’re preparing for college, military, or a career in business or public service, JROTC helps you grow into a confident leader who serves with integrity and purpose.
Join JROTC at MASE and lead the way — in school, in your community, and beyond.
Band

The Band Program at MASE is where talent, discipline, and creativity come together to create powerful musical experiences. Open to students of all skill levels, the program nurtures a deep appreciation for music while developing technical ability, teamwork, and performance confidence. Whether students are picking up an instrument for the first time or have years of experience, MASE provides a supportive environment to grow both as musicians and individuals.
Under the direction of skilled instructors, students learn a wide range of musical styles and techniques. They participate in concerts, school events, community performances, and regional competitions, proudly representing MASE with energy and excellence. Band students gain more than just musical ability — they build leadership, time management, and collaboration skills that carry into every aspect of life.
At MASE, band is more than an elective — it’s a vibrant part of our culture. It gives students a voice, a stage, and a sense of pride. From the first note to the final bow, students learn what it means to commit to a craft, work as a team, and inspire an audience.
